My little sister graduated high school during these crazy times!

I’m so proud of my little sister for graduating high school yesterday! Despite COVID19, we had a *very small* party for her filled with cupcakes, homemade spaghetti and meatballs, and friends and family. She got to graduate in Dragon Stadium along with the rest of her class and still got to walk the stage! She graduated as part of the National Honors Society and a Success Scholar (having at least 75 hours of community service and a specific grade point average). She was also Freshman Advisor on the Band Council and Head Section Leader for the pit in percussion!

I can’t believe 4 years passed so quickly. In my head she’s still so sweet... and shorter than me! Alas, she has already gained inches on me and she’s on her way to being a fierce young adult. It’s crazy to think that 18 years ago we adopted her, not knowing what she would accomplish and where she would go. Now she’s graduating and heading off to the University of Texas at Arlington to pursue a degree in business, complete with a scholarship and admittance into their honors program!

I know that this girl is going places and I couldn’t be prouder to be her older sister. No matter what direction life takes her I know that she will do great things and I can’t wait to see what happens next! Her perseverance and dedication are inspiring and her drive will take her far. Go Mavs!
