Suburbs take on the City

I moved!

After a long few weeks, we are finally settled into our brand new apartment! My new roomie, Kristin, and I have been slowly filling this space for the past 3 or so weeks. One of the best things about moving is the ability to really develop the space to fit our personalities. I like to call our decorating style “adult nerd”. It’s an eclectic mix of classic elements mixed with pieces prom our favorite fandoms.

I’ve been wanting to move for some time now. I feel like it’s the next logical step in adulthood and gives me more freedom over my time and activities than living at my parents place. It’s also closer to work (bonus!) and close to many shopping areas and food places.

I think it’s important to remember that, while moving can be fun and exciting, it can also be really draining. I spent the last few weeks feeing like I never got a weekend because I was constantly doing things non-stop. It’s vital to take a break when needed and pace yourself! I’m one of those type-A people that need everything to be done and in its place but when creating a home, I needed to take time to sit back and enjoy the progress.

Despite the place not being exactly how I imagined, I love that it really shows off who we are as people and allows others to feel at home in the space. My favorite part of the space is the fact that there is a pantry (squee!) and our couches. We got them for a great deal from a family friend and one of them pulls out into a queen size mattress. We’ve already had my sister sleep over and test it out so we can say with confidence that it’s “good enough” 😂. Here is some pictures of the place. We think it really came together wel!
