Why a Van?

If you've read any of my other posts or really any part of my blog, you probably know that I want to live in a van. I think there's probably a lot of people out there that don't understand why I would choose to live in a van over a nice apartment, a house, or really anything that might actually be considered an actual livable space.

I want to live in a van not because it's cool or romantic or something like that. I want to live in a van because it will allow me to create a life that I've only dream about. I spent two summers of my college career working in office jobs as an engineering intern. Trust me when I say that 6 months of my life at a desk with no windows was plenty of time for me to hate office work. I liked my coworkers and the difference I was making in the world, but being a pencil pusher was not in my cards.

Living in something mobile gives me the freedom to travel and explore at my own pace while always having something to come back to at night. It gives me the chance to enjoy nature, breath in fresh air, and live a life that I truly find happiness in. I want to be able to work, travel, live, and volunteer while living in a place that inspire me. I want to explore new cultures and traditions, find new food and discover new things about myself.

I want to live a life that I don't want to take a vacation from and I can't wait for the day when dreams become reality. I don't think people should try and conform what their goals are to the expectations of society so I'm making my choice to be 100% authentic with myself and go after my dreams.

I think being able to live on the road, work remotely, and meet new people would allow my sense of adventure to expand and flow freely. Happy living!
